7th Handisup "Meet and Greet"

Handisup “Meet and Greet” is a unique forum, as confirmed during its 7th edition that took place on Tuesday 19th October 2010 at the Maison de l'Université in Mont-Saint-Aignan. 40 people working in businesses (from the public and private sectors) led 15-minute interviews with 90 students with disabilities coming from Haute-Normandie, and these students were offered jobs, work experiences or summer jobs. Though the public transport company strike and the petrol shortage could have caused damage to this event, the loyalty of the businesses along with the organisation and the determination of the Handisup team and the devotion of 50 volunteers made it successful. Most of the 500 interviews that had been planned actually took place and the satisfaction survey showed this event was really appreciated. On the very next day, Handisup started helping businesses and students with disabilities to turn these interviews into summer jobs and regular jobs. Even if a first assessment will be made in 6 months, contracts and work experiences are already foreseen by some students. Roll on the 8th edition !
