
Spreading our Expertise
Strengthened by 10 years of experience during which hundreds of young adults (with visual, auditory, or motor disabilities) have been supported, HANDISUP provides their expertise to both education institutions as well as businesses.
In addition, HANDISUP offers advice concerning “matiere d'acceuil” and development, especially when evaluation the needs of students with disabilities. We also offer social and technical advice.
Charlotte Lemoine, our General Representative, is a member of the expert panel formed by the University President Conference and attends ministerial and inter ministerial meetings.
She has also participated in composing the « Guide to registering students with disabilities to your university ». This document is essential for all headmasters and directors wishing to welcome and accommodate students with disabilities to their institutions.
Handisup organises as well as participates in multiple different demonstrations with the aim of changing mentalities towards disabilities in the eyes of the National Education, businesses and volunteers.
Handisup has organized awareness campaigns on different themes. Somes examples are :
• The social history of disabilities
• Accessibility for disabilities in society (situational experiments)
• The law 2005 against discrimination
• How to involve and work with the disabled?
• Education from kinder garden through to graduate studies
• Working with young children with disabilities
• From education to the work force
We have created two educational films :
• “Nous, les autres” (8 minutes) with the goal of shedding light upon and lowering prejudices with regards to people with disabilities.
• “Je Veux Etre” (6 minutes) discusses the problem of career guidance and accessibility.
