‘Walk in the dark and spin in a wheelchair'
Handisup organised, in partnership with Espace Handicap at Rouen University, two days dedicated to spreading awareness at the UFR of Law, Economics and Management.
These two days allowed students, administrative staff and teachers to become aware of the difficulties that students in wheelchairs as well as students with visionary problems encounter daily.
Both the wheelchair and walking stick experiences were organised by the students (disabled and non) as well our Handisup volunteers. All of whom receive formal training by Handisup.
The events of 4th of December took place in partnership with the Agglomeration of Rouen as part of Diverse City Day, the first organized fight against discrimination.
Have an excellent year !

Saturday 4th September 2010
HANDISUP develops its actions that heighten our awareness towards one of the major issues faced by people with disabilities : accessibility. During the 3rd soccer tournament organized by the Firefighters working in Rouen on Saturday 4th September 2010, HANDISUP was offering three types of play activities : blindfolded track and field contests, paralympic football and obstacle courses on weelchairs. All contestants – working for the national Police, the local Police, the Maison d'Arrêt (County Jail) in Rouen, TCAR (the local public transport company), Banque Populaire, etc – did their best in all of these activities. The Gambetta Firefighters B team was awarded a prize for being the fastest team to achieve these courses. It really was a convivial and relaxing day for HANDISUP volunteers who got an opportunity to gather again after the summer break.
